Boundaries is a term you’ve no doubt heard at one time or another. In this course we’re going to look in more detail at what we mean by boundaries, how they develop, client and staff boundaries, boundary crossings and violations, and the ethical implications.

We will think about some of the practical ways we can recognise and address boundary crossings in our practice, learning how to intervene before a serious situation develops.

We’ll also go on to look at both managing client disclosure as part of support, containment and boundary management and professional self-disclosure.

Finally, we will gain an understanding of the importance of holding healthy boundaries around breaks and endings, as well as the importance of self care in our work.
