Dr Natalie Isaia

Dr Natalie Isaia is a Clinical Psychologist working primarily in the homelessness sector developing psychologically informed environment (PIE) approaches in frontline services. Natalie has a longstanding passion for working with socially excluded populations, including refugees and asylum seekers and individuals who are homeless. Natalie’s clinical training has focused on understanding and supporting complex presentations, in particular complex trauma. Natalie draws from a variety of psychological frameworks including attachment theory and neurobiological theories. She is trained to deliver therapy in multiple models including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy.

Natalie’s work has drawn her into organisational psychology and in recent years she has focused on training and upskilling frontline staff working in third-sector and social care organisations. Natalie believes that disseminating knowledge and empowering staff to work confidently with individuals who can present with complex needs and challenging behaviour, is crucial to effecting systemic change and supporting marginalised individuals who may otherwise be excluded from accessing appropriate support.
